#TeamCOPEG Present at the 10th National Swine Congress

Dr. Enrique Samudio, General Director for Panama, had the honor of representing #TeamCOPEG at the 10th National Swine Congress, an event focused on improving pork production in Panama and celebrating 60 years of freedom from Classical Swine Fever. The conference took place in Santiago de Veraguas and was organized by the National Association of Swine Producers of Panama (ANAPOR).

During his presentation, Dr. Samudio addressed the issue of the New World Screwworm (Cochliomyia hominivorax) and the actions being implemented to confront this challenge. His outstanding participation reflected #TeamCOPEG’s commitment to the development and advancement of Panama’s agricultural sector.

The event was attended by notable figures such as Augusto Valderrama, Minister of Agricultural Development; Carlos Salcedo Zaldivar, Minister Counselor for Agricultural Affairs; Wei Qiang, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China; Carlos Pitty, President of ANAPOR; Yill Otero, Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs and Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; as well as representatives from the Council for Monitoring the State Agro-Food Policy (PADE), producer organizations, companies, and institutions from Panama’s agricultural sector.

The #TeamCOPEG pavilion stood out among the exhibitors, with a well-received tour that left a positive impression on attendees. In addition to the exhibitions, the congress featured two key lectures: The Economic Impact of African Swine Fever in the Dominican Republic and Strategies for Sustainability.
